Gas Compression Fundamentals - 400

One-day course designed to introduce participants to the intricacies of compressor packages. Technical overview of various compression aspects such as: engine driver differences (turbocharged, lean burn, and normally aspirated) and the advantages of each. Engine selection concerns, reciprocating and screw compressor differences, sizing graphs, performance curve reading, the importance of vibration analysis, control systems and common operational problems. The course will give the participant a general overview of the technical aspects of gas compression.

Field Operator Gas Compression Basics - 413

Two-day course designed to review field gas compression operation. Technical overview of compression package operational safety, compression process design, and theory topics. Course content includes gas compression theory, reciprocating and screw compressor theory, package operation and maintenance practices, and engine systems including cooling, fuel and lubrication systems. Practical application review of course content is also used to reinforce theoretical concepts covered.

Compression Optimization - 405

One-day course in which participants will review gas compression optimization, through theory, case studies and modeling methodology. The compression process, component interrelation and asset analysis are reviewed. Package, field and engine limitations as well as compressor performance and analysis are discussed. Optimization strategy analysis of various option scenarios are presented in case study format. Taught by an Enerflex Optimization Specialist, this is an opportunity for students of all backgrounds to get a diverse exposure to compression optimization.

Enerflex Waukesha Gas Engine Technology - 403

This four-day course provides the foundation for all gas engines. Taught by a Waukesha factory trainer, the information can be applied to virtually all gas engines and is comprehensive in all areas of engine maintenance, operation and troubleshooting. This course is recommended for anyone who is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Waukesha products, and for those who desire a thorough understanding of gas engine theory and technology not easily attained in the field.

Gas Engine Troubleshooting School - 404

The course information can be applied to virtually all gas engines and is comprehensive in engine maintenance, operation and troubleshooting. Both rich and lean burn engines will be reviewed. Topics include: air induction system, fuel system, ignition, combustion process, exhaust system, emission standards/controls, lubrication system, oil analysis, cooling system operation, alignment objectives/maintenance requirements, air fuel ratio control and detonation sensing. The course is designed for those interested in improving their technical application knowledge.

Enerflex Ariel Reciprocating Compressor School - 401

Two-day course about the operation and maintenance of an Ariel reciprocating compressor from an Ariel factory instructor. The course covers such topics as lubrication systems, balance and alignment, Ariel compressor valves, inertial forces/balance/torsional vibration, performance data interpretation, compressor sizing, rod packing, compressor valve design, pulsation/vibration/resonance, orientation to compressor components, maintenance points and a Q & A session.

Reciprocating Compressor Operation, Optimization & Maintenance - 406

One-day course that reviews the principles of compression, optimizing performance of the compressor, lubrication systems, rod load, reversal, rod packing, suction and discharge valves, mechanical balance, fastener torque specifications and maintenance. The content is generic and may be applied to most reciprocating natural gas compressors.

Screw Compressor Theory and Operation Training - 407

One-day practical course provides an overview of the screw compressor, discussing the differences between a screw compressor and a reciprocating compressor. Various compressor prototypes and information will be used in the course to provide a range of products currently in use. This course is designed for mechanics and field service technicians primarily, but is of interest to engineers, designers and project managers as well.

Packing Vent and Drain System - 408

A half-day course that explains and explores packing vent and drain systems in sour gas applications. Content includes descriptions and explanations of the system set-up, the parts and their operation, maintenance procedures (pressures and temperatures), describe safe operating practices and reviews various troubleshooting areas. The training covers: differences between sour and sweet systems with a review of protection requirements; lubricating oil: benefits of lubricating oil, ash composition factors and oil analysis including TAN and TBN; and vent and drain systems: sweet gas purge, double distance piece and packing, seal pot and vacuum system.

Gas Compression, Instrumentation and Process School - 409

One-day course on the natural gas compression package from an instrumentation perspective. The course reviews the basic concept of gas compression, identifying all the devices used to monitor and control the flow of natural gas as it travels through the compression cycle. The specific function of each device is explained in detail and information provided as to how adjustments are made and what maintenance may be required. This program is based on the compression packages manufactured by Enerflex Ltd. but is applicable to most compressor packages.

Enerflex Customer Engine System Manager Course - 412

This two-day course is designed specifically for technicians who install, program, adjust and troubleshoot the ESM. Students should understand governing, ignition systems and be experienced adjusting fuel systems, troubleshooting electrical systems and performing basic tasks on a laptop computer using Microsoft Windows. This course is conducted by an Enerflex trainer certified by Waukesha.

Engine System Manager Training for Operators Course - 414

Designed for operations personnel who monitor the engine on a day-to-day basis. The power supply section of the program reviews electrical requirements as applied to the ESM, such as proper wire sizing, stable power sources, grounding, etc. The theory and hardware component of the ESM are discussed. Hands-on ESM troubleshooting is emphasized.

Available upon request and will be conducted when there is sufficient interest to hold a course.

Custom Training Package Options

Get specific! This option provides you with an opportunity to design training around a specific objective. The requirements are determined through consultation to identify specific needs and establish objectives. Training may be topic-specific or all-inclusive, ranging from exploring the operating philosophy of equipment, review of the operating systems to detailed explanations of the engines, compressors or power generators, review instrumentation and panel controls or detailed maintenance requirements. We can also include a hands-on exercise using Enerflex equipment or parts to give participants the opportunity to put their skills training to use.
